Huntress Moon
I have added a few photos I took for my photography class. They’re simple. Nothing too exciting about them… 2 still lifes of grapes and 1 portrait of Hannah. They were both to fulfill an assignment requiring that we use light from a north window with a reflective card to obtain natural, even light.
Exciting / disappointing musical news. Firstly, thanks to Melissa, I have heard Marilyn Manson’s remake of “This is Halloween” for the rerelease of Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s incredible. It’s a silly song but hey, it’s Marilyn Manson and it sounds freakin’ great. Now for the disappointing news: Cradle of Filth’s new CD. It’s horrible. Simply horrible. It sounds like Nickelback with testosterone. They covered the Heaven17 song “Temptation.” How can you call yourself a black-metal band and cover a synth-pop song from the 80’s? Lame. Sadly, the synth-pop song is the best one on the whole album.
Boring times are among us. Hopefully the winter isn’t this dismal throughout.
Here is a poem spoken in a track from CoF’s new CD. It’s dirty, but follows their old style of lyrics… therefore I adore it.
Like a shadow I flew
Through the rain that fell sick with lament,
To this house of incest
For when we undressed
Blasphemies against Venus were rent.
Sister removed, her wet body approved
The parade of my heavenly quests.
Yet all tongues are not true, some are forked or askew
Like an uncivil serpent’s at best.
For ousted from eden I fousted all reason
Hook in mouth like Saint Peter Pan,
To haunt faery groves and hot virgin cobes
Wherein the promiscuous one.
I elected lovers and rejected others
Mephistresses that don’t give a damn…
But in those that still do my deep interest grew
The rise of the true pentagram!”
