Kansas City - City Market
I had two shoots set up for July 5th. One was an engagement shoot around Kansas City and the Plaza, and one was a small DJ show. Neither shoot happened due to people changing plans. Dang it! I remembered talking about the City Market in my Editorial Photo class and ended up shooting there at the last minute for my first assignment. The Market is so busy that it’s difficult to get decent shots without having random people standing in the way. Needless to say, I didn’t get any particular shots that I took a liking to, but here are the five that I considered to be the best. I had some sort of error with my memory card and ended up losing many images I took during this shoot that I had created a folder for. Luckily, a few of them had been transferred to my computer before the card failed. Here is a small slideshow of some of the images I got.

This woman was working so diligently. She was rotating the grapes, moving things around, just altogether busy.

This man was having a genuinely good time. I didn’t see that smile leave his face the entire time.

This woman intrigued me. I passed by her numerous times while looking for decent shots in her area. All the while, she was looking down, had a smile on her face and was counting her money repeatedly. She was sort of mysterious. I took a liking to her because I too love money.

This young girl looked so bored hidden behind all the fruits.

This woman sold only the most immaculate sunflowers. She inspected them meticulously before handing them to the customer in front of her table.
